I don't chase trendy stacks. I care about building, why systems break, and building them so they don't break the same way twice.

I'm still learning, 12 years and I'm still finding gaps in my mental model of how systems actually fail. Still finding joy in new tools and ways to solve problems. That curiosity is the fun part. It's what keeps me engaged and makes development fun.

This is where I think out loud about architecture decisions, production debugging, and the tools that make engineering teams less stressed. Just ideas that stuck with me long enough to be worth writing down.

// Journey
2011-2013

Programmer for Temple University VEPO Lab

Built 3D visualizations with OpenGL and a Kinect for physical therapy research

2013

Graduated from Temple University

Earned my BS in Computer Science

2013

Started at ZixCorp

Worked with some wonderful people on very cool tech and problems

Early 2015

Started at Immersive Media

Solo-built the Android and iOS app for The Expanse TV show

Mid 2015

Started at CollegeNet

SVN just didn't cut it, so I built and self-hosted our GitLab and CI/CD

2016-2019

Scaled the Coalition platform

Grew it 2K → 6K applicants, cut load time in half, and got promoted to tech lead

2022

Led the CRM platform team

Re-architected messaging to move 1M+ messages/day across 600+ queues — 25% faster

Mid 2025

Turned on ELK logging

Grepping logs has its limits — found 100+ institutions with silently broken automations

Late 2025

Laid off from CollegeNet

A clean business decision, not a performance one — said goodbye to some excellent people

Early 2026

Deployed ResuRank

My first desktop app, shipped solo with Electron

Learning new skills and building new tools

Always learning, always shipping, and looking for new opportunities

I'm looking for an Individual Contributor role. One where I work on systems, debug issues, drive architecture, and collaborate with product, SRE, QA, and other development teams. I enjoy building infrastructure that makes developers' jobs easier: better observability, faster deploys, frictionless development, and clearer incident response. Let's build something!
